Mary Kay Information

May 30th, 2007 by admin

If you are looking for Mary Kay information, or information on other direct sales companies and MLMs, Pink Lighthouse is a great resource.  There have been many women who have been sharing a more realistic picture of what some of these direct sales companies are like.

By visiting Pink Lighthouse, you can get questions answered that maybe a recruiter doesn’t want to answer because she’s afraid the reality might turn you off from signing up.

If you are a former consultant who has a lot of inventory leftover, there is a really great inventory trading board you can get rid of product through!

Disney Pixar Cars

May 30th, 2007 by admin

When the Disney Pixar Cars movie came out, my son just HAD to see it.  So I took him, it was fun and when the movie came out on DVD we got that too.  Then they came out with the diecast 1:55 cars.  As my husband and I are toy collectors, and our son was in love with the movie, we decided to start him his first real collection.

After many attempts at retail stores and toy shows, we finally managed to get every single pack car, the double packs Movie Moments and even the triple packs.

Now what do they do?  They come out with yet another series!  So now we are starting all over again!  It’s fun but it gets frustrating too.  Especially when there are people who are hogs about it and the poor kids who really want them can’t get them because people are scrounging them up to sell on Ebay.

We went today and found some more at Walmart.  The man there was nice enough to let me look through a new shipment so we now have 8 of the new wave!  Yeah!

Link Love: Ordinary Moms~~Extraordinary Ambitions

Ordinary Moms~~Extraordinary Ambitions is a new blog that I ran across yesterday from the WAHM board.  I am always willing to help a new blogger get going, so I offered to spread some link love for her!

The first thing I really like about this blog is the song playing, "Home", by Chris Daughtry is my absolute favorite song right now, so that was really cool to me!

Edie has a beautiful family that she proudly posts about and she is a retired pediatric nurse - and she’s only 30 years old!  Edie is a work-at-home mom and is happy as CEOfamilies Team Founder.

Let’s show Edie some link love and tell her The Blog Hog sent you!

Tyra Banks Show On Girls Gone Wild/Spring Break

May 29th, 2007 by admin

One night last week I couldn’t sleep (what’s new) and I was watching Tyra Banks at about midnight here.  She had Girls Gone Wild creator and millionaire Joe Francis on the show.

The show was primarily discussing spring break and what really happens while college students are on break.  Of course, Girls Gone Wild is always there when spring break is happening!

I do not agree at all with Girls Gone Wild.  Why anyone would want to flash their breasts, make out with other girls and some of the other stuff that happens for a cheap, lousy t-shirt is beyond me.  But obviously many do it.

One part of the show kind of ticked me off.  Tyra was giving heck to a mom who stood by and watched her daughter expose herself and do sexual things to her own female cousin.  I fully supported Tyra in this because I thought it was disgusting and especially so for a mother to stand by and not say anything about it.

The mother then asked Tyra about posing nude and wanted to know what the difference was.  Tyra said that she had NEVER posed nude and that her mother absolutely forbade any nude photos while she was with Tyra.  Tyra pretty much said that she does not believe in this.

This is where I got ticked.  On America’s Next Top Model, almost every season there is a nude photo shoot of some sort.  If the girls refuse to post nude, they are eliminated by Tyra and the judges.  Now talk about being hypocritical!

Jordin Sparks: This is Her Now

May 25th, 2007 by admin

Jordin Sparks became the 6th American Idol on Wednesday night and also the youngest in American Idol history.  I was rooting for Melinda Doolittle, but once she was eliminated I wanted Jordin to win.

She has an amazing voice for all the older she is.  Just think what she will sound like in another 10 years.

You can watch the video of her singing the American Idol songwriter’s challenge winning song:  This Is My Now.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia and Interstitial Cystitis are all chronic illnesses that are very misunderstood and can be very debilitating.  I have a website, Fighting Fatigue, where I offer support and resource information for those suffering with any of these illnesses.

I have been ill with all three of these illnesses for many years and my goal is to try and reach out and help as many men and women as possible.

I also started a Fighting Fatigue Forum and Message Board and I have a Fighting Fatigue Lingo site!

If you know of anyone suffering from CFS, Fibromyalgia, IC Disease or any other chronic illness, please send them to these sites!

Have you ever wondered what all of the lingo is you hear surrounding CFS and Fibromyalgia, yet no one can really explain it to you?

Do you feel like you have to have a medical degree to even begin to understand your physician?

Do you have a loved one who tries to explain to you what it is like living with CFS and/or Fibromyalgia, but you just don’t get it?

Learn the Lingo is the first CFS and Fibromyalgia site available that will tell you what ALL of the terms, definitions, and lingo that is used by physicians and sufferers of these illnesses.

Link Love: Mary Kay Translation Station

May 22nd, 2007 by admin

What the Mary Kay Translation Station is about:

"Were you grocery shopping yesterday, when a heavily-made-up woman stopped you in the meat aisle? Did she say “YOU look SHARP” and ask you for your number?

Welcome to the Mary Kay Translation Station, the secret decoder ring of Mary Kay Speak. Here you will find a dictionary of all the most heavily-used lingo that gets injected into every conversation, and what all this stuff means.

So next time you’re at Target shopping for a bra, and a strange woman runs up to you with a “quick question”, you’ll be fully armed and educated.

Because, No, she’s not hitting on you. She just wants to get in your pockets."

I was in Mary Kay for almost 5 years and there is this certain "Mary Kay speak" or "Kaybonics" that is used by consultants and directors.  If you are on the outside looking in, you would have absolutely no idea what some of this chatter means.

The Mary Kay Translation Station was born from the Pink Lighthouse site and forum that the owner, Laura J., started a year ago.  Her forum has grown by leaps and bounds and current MK consultants, as well as former, are all welcome.
