I hurt my back today – again. I have been working on remodeling my son’s bedroom for the past week and I guess I overdid it – again. I thought I was taking it easy and going slowly but I guess I can never go too slow for my poor body! I don’t know how much slower I could go. For Pete’s sake, it took me a week just to get all of the old wallpaper border and glue off!
I started painting in his room yesterday. Slow and steady has to be my motto unfortunately. It wasn’t just working in his room that set my back into this recent flare. This morning it was raining extremely hard and it had been raining since the middle of the night. Our driveway at the bottom usually floods out after rains like this and this morning was no exception. When it was time to put my son on the school bus, I didn’t want him walking through the massive mud puddle (that runs along the entire length of the driveway) and getting his shoes and pants all muddy. So I picked him up and tried jumping over the mud puddle at the same time. BIG MISTAKE!
When I came into the house then to start painting as I bent over to pour the paint out, I felt my back do that thing it does when it goes out. I think the combination of doing the remodeling and picking him up and jumping over the mud puddle did me in.

Oh do I ever feel your pain. It seems the smallest things (heh – no pun intended) can trigger the biggest flareups. I have fibro in addition to low back problems and that’s some serious aggravation sometimes.
Feel better! Have you tried trigger point massage? It’s the only thing that helps me lately – you know, other than massive opioid dosages.
