May 12th is the annual national recognition for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. The date of May 12th was chosen to honor Florence Nightingale’s birthday. She wasthe English army nurse who was a pioneer of the Red Cross Movement. Nightingale was virtually bedridden with a painful and fatiguing illness resembling Fibromyalgia and CFS, yet went on to inspiring accomplishments, including the founding of the first School of Nursing.
To commemorate awareness day, the National Fibromyalgia Association will be on the radio promoting awareness for the illness. Click below for air times and dates:

A group of us blogged for ME/CFS Awareness Day (and Fibromyalgia Awareness Day) and I’ve compiled a list of all the blog posts.

If anyone would like their own post for CFS/ME and Fibromyalgia Awareness Day (or Week or Month!) then leave a comment on that post pointing me in your direction :o)
I think we’ll do it again for 2009.
