My brother-in-law found out yesterday that his cancer has returned. You can read about it here, here and here. He went through chemotherapy and radiation and was doing fine. All evidence of cancer was gone.
A few weeks ago, my son went to church with him, my SIL and their grandson. When he dropped him off at our house my brother-in-law looked absolutely horrible. He didn’t even say one word to me. I knew something was wrong because he always talks and jokes around with me. I called his wife later that day and she said that he has been in terrible pain, couldn’t sleep because when he would lie down he couldn’t breathe, and was just plain miserable.
He went back to the doctor, had another Pet Scan, and the cancer has returned. This time it is in his spine and along his ribs on the one side. They have given him four months – 2 years to live. Our whole family is just devestated.
I am going to call her and try to talk her into getting another opinion. I just don’t trust the cancer doctors in this area. I am hoping to get her to call the Cancer Treatment Centers of America and Johns Hopkins.
