I go for a massage every six weeks to help with my Fibromyalgia pain and for my back pain and problems. Today is the first time I have ever felt worse after the massage instead of better. I had a different massage therapist this time and her technique was different and did not feel as good as that of my regular therapist.
When I went to get up off the table to get dressed I couldn’t turn my neck to either side. I was a little scared at first and then as I slowly worked my neck I was able to turn it to the right part of the way but not on the left. I said something to the therapist and she said my neck was extremely tight (which it always is) and that is probably why I am having problems with it. I never had this issue with the other therapist, however.
I told her about my severe degenerative disk disease and arthritis and she worked on my lower back and hips and other areas affected by those problems. My back doesn’t feel too bad – I just feel terrible from my shoulders up to the top of my head and I have a severe headache along with the neck stiffness and pain.
I hope my regular therapist is back the next time!
