If you have I.C. Disease, you know what effect it can have on your sex life. I know a woman who has not been able to have sex with her husband for YEARS because the pain is so severe for her. Fortunately, my I.C. has calmed down, but when I was first diagnosed, sex was extremely painful and I couldn’t stand to even think about having sex.
The most important thing you can do is to talk to your spouse. Don’t shut them out. They may fear that there is something wrong with them and that you are no longer attracted to him/her. Let your spouse know what it is like for you and there are positions and other things you can try that will not cause more pain or will not cause your I.C. to flare.
There is a great website through the I.C. Association that gives advice on sex with I.C. Remember -the most important thing is communcation.
