Accorinding to a newspaper article I read, there has not been any research done to prove that Pilates effectively reduces Parkinson’s symptoms, but growing numbers of patients are saying that they are finding relief. It is felt that Pilates is helping these Parkinson’s patients because Pilates exercise movements are controlled with sometimes moving the body only inches. The small motions seem to be making a big difference though for Parkinson’s sufferers.
Parkinson’s Disease is a degenerative disorder that inhibits the patient’s ability to control movement. The main symptoms of Parkinson’s are tremors, slowness of movement, poor balance and rigidity.
Studies are also showing that exercise can ease the severity of the Parkinson’s symptoms and relieve pain for them as well. Many of the Parkinson’s patients have also said that they suffer from depression, but the Pilates exercises are helping to life their depression. They feel that they are helping themselves in some way and do not feel defeated as they used to by this disease.

My husband was diagnosed with early onset Parkinson’s disease at 68. His symptoms were shuffling of feet, slurred speech, low volume speech, degradation of hand writing, horrible driving skills, right arm held at 45 degree angle. Things were tough for me, I too was diagnosed of COPD but now we both finally free from these diseases with the help of total cure herbal foundation, He now walks properly and all symptoms has reversed. He had trouble with balance especially at night, getting into the shower and exiting it is difficult. Getting into bed is also another thing he finds impossible.
