I’m having sinus infection issues again and after my doctor’s appointment Thursday I am now on round four of antibiotics. I developed a sinus infection back in September and was on antibiotics. But thanks to my stubborn immune system, my sinus infection lingers on and my doctor has to keep prescribing something stronger each time. I am now taking Levaquin and I have to be on that for 7 days. I hope this antibiotic will do the trick and the sinus pressure, headaches and overall misery that comes with sinusitis will be over.
The last time I had problems with sinus infections it took me over a year to get better.
Do you have a history of sinus infections and do you find it hard to recover despite repeated attempts? Tell me about it in the comments!

Please stop taking antibiotics there is a REAL bad sinus viral infections going around & take most healthy people 3-4 weeks…I have been on 2 antibiotics & they did nothing..ITS VIRAL..and your making your immune system weaker.

Gotta chime in here, sorry can’t keep my mouth shut. Gotta agree w/ teh post above about antibiotics (and meds in general) – don’t automatically go there.
Sinus infections are no fun at all and every case is different but I always say start w/ more natural remedies first. Nasal rinses, neti pot for example.
And then of course keep in contact w/ your doctor as if things progress you might have chronic sinusitis. And then it’s a ct scan and the choices are usually balloon sinuplasty or endoscopic sinus surgery.
Stay informed and Take Care!

If you want a simple way to terminate a sinus infection, I found some stuff that kills fungus and bacteria that you really ought to try. The antibiotics don’t kill the fungus and you need to kill both. This stuff does. You just spray it in your nose and WOW, it got rid of my nasty sinus infection in about a week. I had tried antibiotics that were specifically prescribed for my sinusitis and I also tried a neti pot (yuk) but just couldn’t get this sinus infection to quit. So I did a search and found this stuff (Sinus Relief) from Nature’s Rite. The only problem is that you have to spray it every 30 minutes. I thought, hey, what the heck, it’s worth a try and every 30 minutes isn’t too bad. I was really surprised how well it worked so I bought their sinus support too. It’s been a good moisturizer with calendula and aloe. It’s herbal ya know. I like herbal stuff. So anyway, you should try this for your sinusitis. It won’t make you have a yeast infection after-words like some antibiotics do.

I have had problems with chronic sinus infections for years, I have been on every antibiotic out there and I may fell better for a couple of days but my infection always comes back, the last visit to my doctor 2 weeks ago she gave me avalox and even with my insurance it was 70 dollars!! I am still sick and once again I will be calling my doctor in the morning. This illness has taken a HUGE toll on my life both at home and at work, I feel like my family is sick of me constantly being ill and at work my coworkers feel the same way, I cant take time off from work because I run my department and have no one to cover for me. There are many days I feel like crying from the constant fatigue and pain, I almost wish I could just check into the hospital and get IV antibiotics. I also have a deviated septum, does anyone out there know of ANYTHING I can try to get better? I just want my life back.
